This is not an April Fool's Joke ... it's a post!

I follow many blogs through Google reader, looking forward, each day to a posting from one of my fav's. So, I have to give credit to you bloggers out there...being an active blogger takes a great deal of commitment! My last post was back in August 2011 when I shared my New Catalogue open house goodies. Here we are in April of 2012...spring of 2012 and I'm finally sitting down to blog!

New Catalogue Open House

I held a New Catalogue Open House the other night and had a lovely group of ladies join me.  The make & takes were a Thank-you card and little gift...all ready to give!  The card was inspired by one of my favorite crafters, Tessa Wilde and the little box was right out of our Stampin' Up! demonstrators magazine, Stampin' Success.  It's made with the Bitty Box & Envelope Big Shot Die and is the perfect size for a little gift like maybe jewelry or a couple of Ghiradelli chocolates!
The color combination, Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Calypso Coral is so cheery!

I know I'm a little late with my 'New Year' greeting...let's just say, it's been a little busy 'round here! School year ending, Graduation, on the road to sport camps ... I'm {pooped}! The original Vintage Inspired Card Box and cards, seen here, highlighted the lovely blues and greens in the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper.  Since the paper pack comes with some really pretty pink and green patterns as well, I wanted to make a pink version!

I have a fun class project to share today ... I have a lovely group of gals signed up to make this with me on Saturday, April 9th ... We'll be using some fun new embellishments found in current Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini, the Beveled Window Panes and the Trinket Keys {so cute}! As well, I'm highlighting the Clearly for You stamp set and Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper ... my current favorite!  It's going to be so much {fun}!

My poor neglected blog ... finally a post!

It's been forever since I last posted something crafty ... all I can say is that it has been a long and trying winter ... it's March and I woke to hear the radio announcer comment that it was -20 degrees (C) outside ... urghhhh, when are we gonna get a break? Enough about that and on to something fun ...

I had a lovely group of gals over this past Saturday for a card class. 
Sale-a-bration was the theme ...  This first little beauty was something from the Stampin' Up demonstrator site ... I jazzed it up a little by adding the large scallop square.
The next two cards are cased from Julie Davison and Gretchen Barron's blogs, respectively...such talent!

Our last little project was something I designed ... I'm not much of a 'sticker' fan so I wanted to do something with the Quick Accents page that comes with the Sale-a-bration Designer Paper Pack ... this is what I came up with ... kinda' fun!

Tweeking my blog ...

Wow...blog posts have been pretty much nonexistent since school started ... busy, busy, busy.  I'm presently taking an online course, Blog Design Basics for Blogger, from Jessica Sprague.  It's a great course if you're just starting and a great review if you are like me and stumbled your way through learning the how-to's of blogging!  One little trick I've learned is adding a signature ... more tomorrow!

2S4Y Challenge #60 & Photoshop Fun!

Wow...'had a busy day and evening ... worked in the yard 'till dark and still have more to do tomorrow so I won't be stamping {sigh}.  I'm cutting this one close to the challenge deadline.  I finished it late last night and  completely  forgot to take a picture in the daylight so rigged up my lighting a bit differently to accommodate a night time shot.   I've been playing with Photoshop Elements and thanks to a great tutorial from 

Tania Gould, I was able to blur the edges and give it that 'sultry' look...{fun!}

TGIF ... The last of our August weekends is upon us...we are hopefully going to be out doing some clean up in the yard.  My perennial bed looks like a jungle!  I hear the weather is not going to be very nice this weekend, but that's kind of been the way the summer has gone.

Anyway, on to the important stuff!  This weeks challenge over at Pals Paper Arts is a 'Simply Sketch'...
